{"id":949,"date":"2016-10-31T16:18:08","date_gmt":"2016-10-31T16:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.njdeca.org\/newsite\/?page_id=949"},"modified":"2016-10-31T16:18:08","modified_gmt":"2016-10-31T16:18:08","slug":"state-level-events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/njdeca.org\/state-level-events\/","title":{"rendered":"State Level Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Jersey DECA provides two state level events to serve special populations. \u00a0These events are only open to students\u00a0in special populations.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc423529310\"><\/a><strong>Supermarket Careers & Customer Service Events<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Overall Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Any student with an I.E.P. (Individualized Educational Plan) who is also enrolled in a corresponding class is eligible to enter the Customer Service Event, <em>or<\/em> the Supermarket Careers event.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>The Special Needs Event Form can be found in the <strong>New Jersey DECA Handbook<\/strong>. This form must accompany the Regional and State Conference registration forms.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Students who are entered in the Customer Service Event will compete in the following instructional areas:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Human Relations\/Job Interview<\/li>\n<li>Personal Selling\/Sales Presentation<\/li>\n<li>Selling\/Sales Check<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Students who are entered in the Supermarket Careers Event will compete in the following instructional areas:\n<ul>\n<li>Human Relations\/ Job Interview<\/li>\n<li>Operations\/ Bagging<\/li>\n<li>Retail Math\/Till Verification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>A DECA word bank for students to use as a study guide of industry-related terminology will be used for these competitive events.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>Scores from the three instructional areas will be combined to achieve one score.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Regional qualifiers will be determined in the same manner as the other qualifying events.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>At State competition, there will be a finalist round.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The event guidelines for each event are located in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.njdeca.org\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/NJ-DECA-Handbook-Draft-9-4-2019.pdf\">New Jersey DECA Handbook<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Jersey DECA provides two state level events to serve special populations. \u00a0These events are only open to students\u00a0in special populations.
